FUNCTIONAL ELECTRICAL STIMULATION
Our Technology Development Lab provides a Class 1000 Cleanroom facility which enables human grade implants to be prototyped.
Electrode development stems from a fundamental understanding of neural interfacing which leads to new features and better function.
The ability to conceive, fabricate, test, and produce advanced technologies and apply them to human needs is what makes the Cleveland FES Center unique. Our technological capabilities are divided into two segments; innovation and production.
The innovation group is charged with identifying the cutting edge techniques, materials and concepts from across the industry for possible inclusion into FES applications.
The production group is charged with fabricating small quantities of implantable and external devices to a quality level fit for human use.
